Getting Album Contents

A common workflow for Photos involves the processing of media items in one or more specified albums. The following actions can be used to return references to the media items contained by an album.

Getting the Contents of the Favorites Album

The result of this action is a list of references to the media items contained in the Favorites Album.

Getting the Contents of the Last Import Album

The result of this action is a list of references to the media items contained in the Last Import Album.

Getting an Album by Name

This action will return references to the top-level albums whose name matches the specified parameter.

NOTE: By default, the result of the “Get Album by Name” action is a reference to one or more Photos album objects. However, if this action is followed by an action, such as one of the Export actions, that requires Photos media items as input, a built-in conversion action will extract and return references to all of the media items contained by the found albums.

Here’s a simple workflow that will create a new slide in Keynote for each of the media items contained in the Favorites Album.
